SOMAS Program Timeline

The SOMAS grant application receipt deadline is December 1. Grant review occurs between December 1 and January 25. Applicants are notified as to the review outcome in early February. Funds to support the summer research effort are made available in early May. The annual gathering of SOMAS Awardees occurs at the concurrent Annual Meetings of the Society for Neuroscience and Faculty for Undergraduate Neuroscience, which typically occur in late October to mid-November. The Final Project Report is due December 15 in the year the grant is funded. Travel funds for reimbursement of the SOMAS Faculty Awardee's trip to the joint annual meetings of the Society for Neuroscience and Faculty for Undergraduate Neuroscience will be made available upon receipt of the Final Project Report.
